The Presidium of FINSO on termination of membership of the Novus Federation of Ukraine in FINSO from 11/30/2022

The FINSO Presidium reports:

On August 29, 2022, a letter was sent to the Presidium of FINSO from the Novus Federation of Ukraine to terminate the membership of this organization in FINSO.

In accordance with §5 of the Charter, each member of FINSO has the right to voluntarily withdraw from FINSO.
To withdraw from FINSO, a resignation letter addressed to the FINSO secretariat (headquarters) is sufficient. The FINSO Charter regulates 3 months for a decision after filing an application.

On September 11, 2022, as part of a virtual conference, the representative of the Ukrainian Federation of Novus, Ivan Lisovenko, introduced the reasons for this decision to the participants of this conference. The FINSO Presidium has repeatedly expressed support and solidarity with Ukraine, and also offered:

• postpone withdrawal from FINSO membership;
• temporarily suspend membership in FINSO.

This proposal was not accepted.

Mr. Lisovenko made it clear that he still has demands and claims against the FINSO Presidium.

On September 26, 2022, a letter was sent to the FINSO Presidium from Ivan Lisovenko with a number of claims and demands to the FINSO Presidium.
The FINSO Presidium carefully reviewed the requirements set out in this letter and was forced to admit that, in general, the requirements presented cannot be met.

Reasons why basic requirements cannot be met:

• contradict the organization’s charter;
• requirements for making such decisions that are not within the competence of
• a public sports organization and must be decided by other organizations;
  contradict basic democratic principles;

Almost everything stated by Ivan Lisovenko does not correspond to the principles of work of the international sports organization FINSO.

The decision to withdraw could be suspended only if the FINSO secretariat received a reasoned application to withdraw the application for withdrawal of the Novus Federation of Ukraine from FINSO.
Since the application for withdrawal was not received, the decision to withdraw the Novus Federation of Ukraine from FINSO came into force on November 30, 2022.
