The FINSO Presidium on depriving Guntars Bralitis of the title of FINSO Grandmaster from 11/13/2022

The FINSO Presidium reports:

On September 10, 2022, FINSO President Juris Kiriks received an application from Guntars Bralitis to revoke his title of Grandmaster (IMG) and remove his name from the list of FINSO titles awarded.

Based on the repeatedly demonstrated disrespect for FINSO decisions, the title of FINSO Grandmaster, and attempts to discredit FINSO in public networks, as well as taking into account the statement of G. Bralitis, the FINSO Presidium at its meeting on November 13, 2022 decided to deprive G. Bralitis of the title of Grandmaster FINSO from 11/13/2022 and removing his name from the list of assigned FINSO titles.

In 2021, Guntars Bralitis, introducing himself as the president of the Russian public organization, on its behalf (https://www.infosport.ru/organizations/18590 and https://vk.com/fnsir_guntars_bralitis) submitted an application for membership in FINSO. Subsequently, he was informed in detail about the procedure for joining and the status of an associate member of FINSO. Later, citing various reasons, G. Bralitis withdrew his application for membership.

This was followed by conflict situations, the initiator and participant of which was G. Bralitis.

The decisions taken by the FINSO Presidium on these conflicts did not satisfy G. Bralitis.

The correct way to appeal FINSO decisions, within the framework of the rules of the existing FINSO statutes, is through a discussion through the national federation from which the athlete participated in international ranking tournaments.

Guntars Bralitis did not use this only correct path.

Guntars Bralitis questioned the competence and objectivity of the decisions of the Presidium, as well as of its individual participants.

The negative statements that followed later on social networks looked like a desire to harm those with whom he had previously wanted to be in the same public organization.

To neglect the title of Grandmaster or FINSO Master means to disrespect the work of the organizers of these tournaments in different countries and to belittle the achievements of other athletes participating in these competitions.

The decision to deprive Guntars Bralitis of the title of FINSO Grandmaster from 11/13/2022 was made unanimously by the FINSO Presidium.

Please, if you have any additional questions, contact the Presidium through your national federations.
